Paper Portal Used Books is an online and pop-up bookstore in Seattle featuring imaginative books for readers to explore the many realms of the fantastic: science fiction, fantasy, mythology, and folklore. You'll also find genres such as fiction, art, music, film, horror, poetry, history, and spirituality.

With a love of vintage paperbacks with vibrant and eclectic covers, the bookshop strives to curate an engaging mix of both familiar and rare books.

Is fantasy literature just pure escapism? In a piece called "It Doesn't Have To Be The Way It is" by Ursula K. Le Guin, the author affirms that "the direction of escape is toward freedom."

Cam started Paper Portal in 2021. Initially selling books on Instagram, he gradually branched out into pop-up markets, and then opened a brick-and-mortar bookshop in April 2023. Closing the in-person location in January 2025, Paper Portal Used Books has now been re-imagined and re-invigorated as an online and pop-up bookstore.
